Yeewket Admas Gives Books To School Libraries In Debre Zeit.

 Yeewket Admas’ mission is to provide good quality books to Ethiopians to help them develop a culture of reading and self improvement. It has opened or assisted 8 libraries already in Ethiopia. Helping school libraries are an obvious way for Yeewket Admas to achive its mission. Today we visit Debre Zeit, Oromia which have benefited from the charity’s help.

Mekani Yesus School

This is a small church school in Debre Zeit town with 300 students. In partnership with Yeewket Admas they have developed a successful library and adjacent computer room.

 The library is housed in a classroom sized room with tables and chairs for students to sit and read comfortably. There are a range of information posters on the wall and television and audiovisual equipment.

The project director for the school, Ato Asrat, is responsible for the succesful running of the library and the computer room and computer classes. As expected all books are marked with the school stamp and a NOT FOR SALE stamp.

Belthlehem (Bet Alem) School

Bethlehem school is also one of Yeewket Admas’s beneficiaries. It is a private school of 900 students offering grades 1 to 10. It has a attractive compound with many trees. It has sturdy brick built classrooms and the library is housed in a large room with a large storeroom off which acts as the librarians office and book room.
